Meet the Makers

 If you’ll indulge me for a moment—I’d love to share a bit of our story.

Hello! I am Mary Elsie, I am Alaskan Native from Fairbanks, Alaska and familial ties to  Nuiqsut, and Minto. I met my husband, Levi in 2014, and we’ve been side by side ever since.

In 2020, a quiet dream began to take shape. I started Satu & Sage as a personal creative outlet that was rooted in the desire to share my culture while honoring the land that I love so dearly . As I leaned into that path, Levi found inspiration in the process. Watching me build something from the ground up sparked his creative fire, and in time, his passions naturally became part of the journey too. 

We moved to Maine in 2021 where we continue to build our dream together. What began as just mine soon evolved into ours. With shared intention and purpose, Satu & Sage grew into what we now call Wandering Raven Collective—a family-led brand grounded in craft, connection, and creativity. 

At the heart of everything we do are our four children. Through this work, we hope to show them that you can always start fresh, honor where you come from, and carve your own path—one rooted in passion and purpose.

Our inspiration stems from the raven, our favorite bird—a symbol of change, new beginnings, curiosity, and connection—that perfectly reflects the spirit we bring to everything we create. The raven’s journey is one of transformation and adaptability, reminding us to embrace growth and explore with an open heart. 

“Wandering” captures our love for intentional adventure—the kind that invites us to slow down, observe, and connect deeply with the world around us. It’s about finding meaning in the paths we travel, honoring nature’s rhythms, and crafting with much thought and care. 

Together, the Wandering Raven symbolizes a life full of curiosity and wonder—the freedom to wander and enjoy the journey that unfolds along the way.

At the core of what we do is a simple message: it’s never too late to step off the beaten path and follow your own heart. Every piece we create honors that spirit of possibility, craftsmanship, and living mindfully.
